The Pastoral Story Circle
GG-TP-005
A blue-green figure and a companion stand together in the central circular scene beneath a leafy tree. Figural registers sit above and below. Outer roundels show pairs, a swing-like setting, vessels and water or boat-like settings. The top row has four rounded scenes. Pale ground, scrolling foliage, red edging and horizontal joins are visible.

The composition.
The central pair is consistent with Krishna-associated pastoral imagery, but finer identifying attributes are less clear in this single source photo than in GG-TP-001. The safest description is a pair beneath a tree, probably Krishna with a companion. The surrounding scenes suggest a linked narrative; their exact identities and sequence remain unknown. The earlier catalogue's Krishna title remains provisional.
These readings describe visible features and possible subjects. A maker-confirmed title, provenance, materials and the identities of unresolved figures are not yet documented.
- The pair beneath a tree
- A Krishna-associated reading is probable; the companion is unconfirmed.
- The upper register
- Figures gather in a leafy setting; the exact episode is unverified.
- The lower register
- A small group occupies its own panel below the central pair.
- The churning scene
- A woman and child beside a churn are likely Yashoda and Krishna.
- The serpent encounter
- The blue-green figure on a coiled serpent is probably Krishna and Kaliya.
- A journey through water
- The basket carrier suggests Vasudeva crossing the Yamuna.
